1. What is Educational Field Trip?
School sponsored off-campus group learning activities.
These are school sponsored off-campus group learning activities that supplement, extend, or enrich the regular instructional program in a manner not possible within the school setting. Educational trips add dimension to classroom learning by providing first hand experience that neither books nor conversation alone can furnish. Classroom follow-up is recommended to enhance the learning experience.
a. Out-of-County – Elementary schools are allowed one (1) trips per teacher (or class) per school year. Secondary schools are allowed one (1) trip per teacher (or class) per school year. Outdoor classroom trips are exempt from this provision.
b. In-County – Elementary schools are allowed no more than three (3) per teacher (or class) per school year. Secondary schools are allowed two (2) per teacher (or class) per school year. Outdoor classroom trips are exempt from this provision.
c. All field trips will not leave earlier than 8:30 AM and must return before 1:00 PM, unless prior approval of the Director of Transportation or his/her designee has been obtained.
2. What is an Extracurricular Field Trip?
These are off-campus trips related to school sponsored activities sanctioned by the FHSAA and/or the School Board of Hardee County.

Bus transportation cannot be provided to athletic teams/organizations prior to 4:00 pm during student school days. The Director of Transportation will make every effort to accommodate special circumstances.
3. What are Recreational or Fun Field Trips?
These are other types of off-campus trips.
