NOTICE OF MEETING

A meeting of the Insurance Review Committee will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Federal Programs Building, located at 230 South Florida Avenue, Wauchula, Florida 33873.

Please be advised that one or more School Board Members of the School Board of Hardee County, other than the designated School Board representative on the committee, may be in attendance and may participate in discussion at this meeting.

This meeting is open to the public in accordance with Florida’s Sunshine Law.

Support the HJH STEM program! HJH cordially invites you to Woody’s BBQ on March 20th from 4:00 – 9:00 PM to support their STEM program! Enjoy a great meal while supporting a great cause—dine in, drive through, or take out. Many STEM students will be assisting at the event, and Percy the Pig will be there for fun photo opportunities! They are incredibly grateful to Woody’s BBQ for organizing this event to promote the STEM program and appreciate any support you can provide.

Detectives have concluded their investigation regarding the incident at Hardee junior High School this morning. It was determined an Exceptional Education Student pulled a classroom fire alarm. A student in the bathroom thought they heard gun shots and called 9-1-1. Deputies responded and confirmed there was no evidence of weaponry having been fired at the school through video footage, campus walkthroughs, and attendance verifications. It was concluded the student who called 9-1-1 was simply responding out of fear. At this time no charges are being filed. The students and faculty at Hardee Junior High are believed to be safe and should be commended for their swift execution of their emergency plans.

An incident occurred this morning at Hardee Junior High involving a student pulling a fire alarm. A report of gun shots was additionally reported. Deputies have responded and verified this was false information and there is no threat. Students and staff are safe. The subjects in question are detained and updates will be provided as they are available.

September 16, 2024 at 9:55:19 AM EDT The Hardee County Sheriff’s Office and Hardee Junior High School investigated an alleged comment made regarding a neighboring county school threat. The investigation has concluded and no Hardee County Schools are believed to be the subject of a threat. We have no reason to believe students or staff are at risk of danger. Our schools are safe, secure, and ready for a week of learning!
